Empowering Survivors of Human Trafficking, Women, and Youth through Financial Inclusion
In January 2024, we introduced our second project, “KESHO NJEMA PROJECT”, aimed at empowering victims and survivors of human trafficking, women, and youth through financial inclusion. We are delighted to announce that in collaboration with SOCIETY OF DAUGHTERS OF MARY IMMACULATE & COLLABORATORS (DMI) Tanzania, Eco Scope Foundation has successfully facilitated training sessions for numerous young women who are survivors of human trafficking. This marks a significant step towards their complete restoration process.
Project Overview:
Healing Horizons, aims to strengthen the capacity of survivors of human trafficking, women, and youth by imparting essential financial knowledge in various areas, including:
– Business Management and Formalisation: Helping participants understand the basics of starting and formalising their businesses.
– Financial Management: Teaching critical skills for managing finances effectively.
– Customer Service Experience: Enhancing their ability to provide excellent customer service.
– Market Mastery: Equipping them with the knowledge to navigate and succeed in the market.
This project focuses on promoting self-reliance by providing participants with sustainable financial solutions and opportunities. Our goal is to help individuals fight against poverty, which has harmful effects on their lives, by offering access to decent jobs and opportunities for sustainable development.
Key Achievements:
In July 2024, we continued our efforts with a training session for ADEM students on June 1, 2024. This training aimed to raise awareness about human trafficking, covering:
– The definition and extent of the crime in Tanzania and globally.
– Indicators and affected groups.
– The illegality and impact of human trafficking on development.
We were thrilled to have over 400 participants attend the session, demonstrating significant interest and commitment to addressing this critical issue. This event marked a significant step in our collaboration with educational institutions to support our Trafficking in Persons (TIP) project and strengthen efforts to end child trafficking and reduce school dropouts. The role of educational officials is crucial in imparting TIP knowledge to students and parents, making this training essential.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partner, Champions Chanzige Organisation, for coordinating this event.
Eco Scope and Partners Commemorate World Day Against Trafficking in Persons with Citizen Training and Awareness Initiatives.
As we approach the commemoration of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30th, 2024, Eco Scope, on 28th July 2024 in collaboration with other organisation under DMI, continues to provide training to citizens. Our goal is to empower and enlighten them about the illegal trade of human trafficking in our country. This year’s theme is “Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking.”
